October 27, 1775 Dear Tax Collector, King George III just passed the Stamp Act. It is going to help with the riot of people that dislike you. I want the Stamp Act to make the colonies pay for the French and Indian War. We have a lot of money
that was spent from the war since we did win. We spent over $10,000. The taxes are building up, and we need to pay for them soon. I need the colonists to pay for the expensive war. The King wants to raise the price of tea, so you need the colonist to pay for the tea. That way the colonist pay for something they like to drink. The Tea Act is going to be a lot of taxes so watch your back. My good friend Gage Paul was a tax collector and he was tarred and feathered. I don't
want the same done to you. The Stamp Act is what Parliament is thinking about passing. The colonist would have to pay for stamps to get paper. The colonist should be paying you daily. If they don’t write their name down and hide the list. Then we will take care of it. Sincerely, Thomas Paul
