Dear grandma;

I moved to Upper Canada to get a fresh start in life I thought it would be nice living alone with nothing to worry about. we lived in fancy houses made of wood and stone. use girls had to wear puffy dresses and uncomfortable shoes. then the war of the french revolution came alone, and I thought I was gonna die young during the war of 1830. I thought of you and my sister every night when the war was going on. I felt scared and alone. I miss you and i hope i can see you again one day.
