Dear Diary,
Life is hard right now. My dad is VERY loyal to the king and my mom, not so much. I’m not sure what side to take. My three brothers are out fighting in the Continental Army. I haven’t seen them since I was a baby. And now, my family is torn apart. I really want to go to school and meet new people and make friends, thus, I’m too poor. So, that I can’t do. Another downer is I have to cook for the soldiers. We ate green beans as usual. They were disgusting (as
usual). I wish we could have real food for once. There seemed to be like 100,000,000,000,00 green beans on my plate but really it was only 35 or something. I really just want to ask Mom, “Why do we always eat green beans?” Also, we just had even more green beans imported to us!
