Dear Sir/Madame,
I hope this letter finds you well. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Capto Capio, and I am Lord of the Manor Capio in Five Points.
Now, please, don’t be alarmed, but I have followed your escapades for some time. I have been a distant admirer of your talent. I consider myself a collector of interesting relationships, and I have endeavored to build a network of capable people. Often, I have put these capable people in contact with one another to a great shared profit. But, if I may confess, I do this mostly for my own amusement.
As Lord of the Manor, and a nobleman from birth, certain responsibilities have always kept me from walking the adventurer’s path. I yearn to spin my own tales, to brave the unknown, to spelunk and claim treasures vast and secret, but I cannot simply forsake my birthright. I hope you can understand. This is not an omission of cowardice, but of responsibility.
So, I extend to you an offer to attend a dinner party, in your honor. The only thing I ask in return is for you to tell me your tale, perhaps a demonstration of your prowess if the mood takes us, to sprinkle the spice of adventure in the otherwise bland dish of a nobleman’s simple life. I will, of course, take care of your lodgings and travel arrangements. You shall have no expense either in Five Points or in my manor, should you accept.
And I do hope you will accept. As I said, I have many contacts, and should we become friends, I dare say I could change your life.
My coachman will meet you at The Moot, a Tavern on the Town Square of Five Points, in ten days time.
Faithfully yours,
Capto Capio
Lord of Capio Manor
