Dear Mr. Arthur Radley, I am sending you this missive to express my admiration for you. Indeed, throughout the story, we get to know you and we discover little by little your true face. Despite the fear of the children and the rumors in the town, I always knew that you were not crazy. I feel terribly sorry about what happened to you in your childhood, Miss Maudie explained to me that you did not have a happy youth because of your father. I can't imagine all the filth he put you through, it must have been horrible for you.
But instead of becoming like your father, you are different, you didn't make the same mistakes he did, which makes you a good and brave man! What you have done for Scout and Jem is admirable, you have managed to face your fear and get out of this infinite loneliness step by step. You are like an example for me, I would never have got your courage when you went to the rescue of Scout and Jem during the Halloween night. You showed immense empathy towards these children and it makes me so happy to know that great people like
you still exist in this sad world. Thank you for all the love you were able to communicate to me through this story and most importantly, thank you for being yourself!
