Dear Educators of America, On behalf of all students of this generation, I am sorry. I apologize for the immense pressure and blame we have set on you. For immediately pointing our finger at you, for all of the unrealistic expectations we have placed upon your profession. For the incredible demand and challenges you have endured throughout your careers. When test scores are down, We blame the teachers. When the latest educational direction fails, we blame the teachers. When graduation rates fall to an all-time low, we blame the teachers. In education, you the teachers, who are at the lowest levels are
blamed for the failure rather than the department of education planners that set up the standardized tests. Dave Eggers has dedicated his research to the education system. He he has founded over 800 national tutoring centers and published an article for the New York Times in April of 2011 on the topic of improving education in America. Eggers uses analysis from the top three educational countries in the world, Finland, South Korea, and Singapore, to hone in on the issue within our education system. He realized two things, they recruit harder and pay more. Could this be the foundation to
solving the education crisis in our country? If the top three countries are exceeding America in these areas, wouldn’t that be the downfall to our system? h
