Dear Bestiee,
In all acknowledgement of the intense meaning of the word, I hold the belief that it does not do justice to the bond.
with my increasing interest in sanskrit, and just the fact how pounds of depth and emotion are lost over translation, rendering the english salutations shallow-- is yet another grave submission at the doors of already mounted dismay.
so, how about ATMANSAKHI? it is made up of atma + sakhi= soul sakhi. and obviously, sakhi is not the same as friend. it entails more than that.
yaaaar sanskrit is sooo phenomenal na? sweet and deep and magical.
so
we like it, atmansakhi? ya deviji aap kuch raay denge? (see even deviji is so much better than mam)
love,
M
