Nebraska. So here is some steps to make a sod house hope you do a good job! First you build it beside a hill. Next build a dugout home to sleep in. Then clear grass from large area. After that use a plow drawn by mules,oxen, or horses. Later use only enough sod for that day. Meanwhile it has to be root side up. It has to be wider at the bottom. Leave a gap above each window. Cover the gaps with cedar poles and continue laying rows of sod. Finally to build your roof you need cedar poles, brush, long grass, clay, and sod. From your old buddy,
