I guess by now, if you are reading this then I have passed on. All of my war memories are here in my helmet. I promised your grandmother before she died that I would share my war memories with somebody that is interested in listening to me. It is to difficult for me to talk about my memories so I hope that everything here will teach you what war is like and I hope it will answer all your questions. I hope you will never encounter the horrific things war brings. In this collection, you will find letters that
I sent back to my mother. You will find some of her letters as well. You will not find all of them because some I kept just for myself. You will find the very poster I used when I went to the recruiting office in Edmonton and you will find our victory poster from when we took Vimy. Everything here is for you. I hope you understand what I am telling you and that you will cherish all my belongings.
