I’m writing this letter to explain the differences between matter and antimatter. Matter is whatever can touch like my oatmeal that I eat every morning. Once upon a time, scientists found the missing piece of matter. Fulfilling the universes’ wish of symmetry, if one thing exists, an opposite must exists. Although we don’t know the exact properties of antimatter, we do know that if matter is Yin, antimatter will be Yang; if matter is Romeo then antimatter will be Juliet. In more scientific terms, while matter is constituted of electrons
(carry negative charge), protons (carry positive charge) and neutrons (no charge), antimatter is constituted of positrons (carry positive charge), antiprotons (carry negative charge) and antineutrons (no charge). So why are they important to you? I don’t know, but I know that there is a powerful thing called “love” between them. From the beginning of history, they have been seeking one another. One day, they found each other and bang! Space was filled with “love” and a baby Universe was born. Today, really cool people called scientists are trying to help them reunite and turn “love” into an infinite energy source
for spaceships, easing the energy wars between the galaxies.
