Amulet of Arameth
1154 DR – Halls of Waterdeep
I discovered the strangest artifact in my journey through Narfell, once the heart of a vast empire that stretched from the Giantspire Mountains to Lake Ashane. A gold amulet on a plain rope necklace, adorned with birds and flowers on one side, with a dark polished stone on the other. After some study, and a fair amount of magical analysis, it appears this amulet allows the wearer to send one creature that can be seen within range to another plane of existence. Fascinating really. The amulet is extremely effective against the undead, and
may be the intended focus of the amulet’s design.
Based on my analysis, it may be possible for an attuned wearer to focus the amulet’s power on one creature and permanently banish it… however it would require expending all of the stored energy inside, likely destroying the amulet as well. It is not hard to imagine a situation where this would be helpful, what with the Red Wizards continuing their quest….
Features
Upon the command word, the target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be banished. If the target is native to the plane of existence you’re on, you banish the
target to a harmless demiplane. While there, the target is incapacitated. The target remains there until the spell ends, at which point the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied. If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you’re on, the target is banished with a faint popping noise, returning to its home plane. The spell ends after 1 minute has passed, the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied.
