March 15, 1776
It is the night before we move out, and I plan to sneak away. I already have a sack of supplies including some food, water, flint-and-steel, etc. I don’t know where I am going to go, but I know I will find some place. I plan on leaving at 1:00, and will try to get as far as possible. I think I might go to General Garrett's house and see where I should go from there. That would be a six mile hike through the field and up the road. It will be even harder with all of
the soldiers around, but I think I can manage. Until then.
