I know you are probably angry at me right now, I know I shouldn’t have left without telling you or saying a proper goodbye, but England needs me, and I will do anything to protect our country and to protect our family. I can assure you that I will be back in only a short amount of time, and you will barely notice that I have gone. It will be like I’m on a holiday with my friends again. Besides, I know that I must come back and teach you how to hit a cricket ball properly, as I do not think Maud will be happy if you hit another ball through her window again.
I know I will miss you gravely when I’m away but I would like you to know that I will always be thinking of you and praying to see you soon.
