Dear George Washington,
I’m so thankful for making your soldiers clothes. I need to know what
their size in clothing is and their length? I’m almost out of yarn and other materials. Stop by anytime you need more pants, suits, and socks. Maybe we can go to the
tavern. I hope those lobsterbacks lose any way thank you!

Dear Family,
I became a Minuteman, I fought in the American revolution. I have to tell you about some events that happened to me in the American revolution . We had 10 people get killed and seven people were injured. We had several people found to be tried for treason, but we took care of them at least most of them. I almost died with the other 10 fighting for Lexington. I think that I know the man who shot the shot that was heard around the world. I wish I knew for real who shot that shot. The British had 1000’s of men so I had to watch myself. We are trying to get freedom from England. I saw lots of blood even some of my own. It will take some time for it to heal. I was shot in the leg right in the knee cap, so I was in a lot of pain. I could not walk for four months. I was one of the seven that got injured. After the Stamp Act we have been searching for freedom. Our next step is to go to Concord. I hope I get to see you before I possibly die.
Sincerely your one and only,
Ethan Allen

I spoke with your mother at the grocer earlier this week and she told me that you have joined the Army and that you are now in Italy! I was Shocked to hear this. Why would you do such a thing? What reasons could you possibly have to travel half way across the world to fight in a war? She didn't tell me whether you were drafted of whether you enlisted, which was it? Any way, it doesn't matter now, the result is the same either way.
The papers say that the New Zealanders are in Italy at a place called Monte Casino? I have never heard of the place. What is it like there? Is the fighting as tough as you would imagine?
We are so worried about you and you are in our prayers every night. We have made some fruitcake for you which we hopes get’s there in one piece. If there is anything else that we could send to you make your time at war happier tell us and we will do our best to send it. Please stay safe and return to us soon.
Best Wishes,

Hey Mom! Guess where I am! I'd tell you if I knew, but this train is fast, I might be in China for all I know. Everyone here are dewdroppers (lazy person) and hobos, just to get food we have to go and beg. Luckily, I was able to have a nice sitdown family dinner with these nice stand up people. We have to sleep on the top of the train, and it's mighty cold. Last night Jerome got thrown off the train. I now realize how far away from home I am. I'm scared and I want to get back, but I have to find work. I have to sleep on the top of the train during the night, everywhere else is occupied. Last night I almost got caught by the train guard, but I was able to hide in the bushes. I switched trains for the first time yesterday; we had to jump off a train and run to the next one in just a few seconds. I don’t think we all made it. How is dad? Did he find a job in the city? I hope you guys are doing well. I’m going to New York to be a bell bottom (sailor) .

Dear Thomas Gage,
I hope this letter finds you in America. I just wanted to tell you that I want you to be the governor of Massachusetts because I notice you were a very strong general for the British army. I want you to give speeches about how the war was the enforce laws like every one has to pay Taxes and docking fees more money to and i also need to make sure. Everything runs smoothly because I trust you. Also you were brave enough to smuggle Samuel Adams and John Hancock, and you were ordered to seize them. I also heard soldiers marching to Boston to import tea for the Boston tea party. That’s why I want you to be the governor of Massachusetts.Thank you very much fellow leader.
From your King George the III King George III to Thomas... | Day 3: After Mom told me, what happened to Dad she said we were going to move away because this house reminded her of my dad and what she did to him. She was getting packed and so was I. I asked Mom what are we going to do with Dad’s stuff and .She said we’re going to burn it. Right before she was going to burn his stuff, someone knocked on the door. A man in a fancy coat, polished black boots, and long brown curly hair was at the door. I answered the door and he said, “May I speak to your mom?” I got my mom and he said you guys are out of money. If you can't find a way to pay for your house, you’re getting kicked out. You have three days .Mom started to freak out .She wanted to pay for it with the money for the new house. She said instead of wasting our money we are going to sell your dad’s stuff.
Day 3-Callei |
Day 2: I was wondering where my father was. When I asked mom she said, “I don’t know and she seemed weird.” I went outside to see if he was just outside or coming down the road but still no sign of him. I thought he was probably with the king .So I waited until it was the time dad normally got back from there and I looked out the window and he still was not here! Mom was hiding something from me and I could tell because every time I asked her something, she would freak out and shut the door. It was almost 4:00 am . He still has not came home .Mom told me to stop looking for him and she said when we were fighting I shot him but first I thought he moved so I shot. Then I saw it was him.

Dear George Keen,
I have just joined the Patriots after I heard about the Battle of Bunker Hill. I wanted to help out. I also heard about what the Sons Of Liberty did. But anyway, back to the point. This camp isn’t the best place to be, but, I signed up for this after all. It is surrounded by a cliff and only one entrance that won’t break your legs. I have already met a good friend here but only one. His name is Allan Cooper. He is my age and is very friendly. We have tents next to each other, so, I guess that’s good. That's also how we met. I also spotted a British scout and we captured him! I was rewarded by getting promoted! We had dinner and the food was, well… disgusting. Some of it was over cooked and some of it was under cooked. It’s not like back home at all. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the other men here. Some are very nice and some are very mean. They are all much more experienced than I am. Before we went to bed, fifty-five British soldiers ambushed the camp. I don’t think they should interfere with the Americans, because we are overseas and want to do our own thing. That’s all on King George III. If we want freedom, we get our freedom! But anyway, we had 100 soldiers, but, the British were more experienced. I was the second to fire, and I killed my first man. Then, I reloaded and shot another man but didn’t kill him. But shooting those men haunted me, and they still do today after having really messed up dreams in my sleep. But back to the small battle. After shooting two more Lobsterbacks and wasting 12 more bullets, I ran out of ammo and decided to ask Allan for some. He gave me one bullet. I aimed at the officer and shot. I hit him and killed him making the British run. I and a few other men in the camp chased the British killing two more of them. We got back to the camp, and the ones who stayed back were still throwing away bodies but the smell of death was immense. That night, we were all ordered to scout the area and kill any red coats that survived. No loyalists were found but we did find a lost soldier in the woods. He was a colonist that had his squad killed by that same British regiment. He was shot in the leg. That night we had a celebration in memory of the lost soldiers that night we even prayed for our enemy. They were people too. I couldn’t get to sleep until I think midnight. That is why there is a lack of detail in this letter. I think the camp is haunted by the British that were killed yesterday. It’s not pleasant to think that thought though. I woke up today with the smell of death and blood still in my nose from yesterday. It’s probably the bodies in the river next to the camp. I heard the other soldiers talking about me and how many men I killed which was five by the way. Then I got up to see that all of the breakfast was gone. We are very poorly fed here but I don’t care. That has been my first day at the camp, and I will keep you updated.
Your Brother,
Nathaniel Keen

Dear Tax Collector,
King George III just passed the Stamp Act. It is going to help with the riot of people that dislike you. I want the Stamp Act to make the colonies pay for the French and Indian War. We have a lot of money that was spent from the war since we did win. We spent over $10,000. The taxes are building up, and we need to pay for them soon. I need the colonists to pay for the expensive war. The King wants to raise the price of tea, so you need the colonist to pay for the tea. That way the colonist pay for something they like to drink. The Tea Act is going to be a lot of taxes so watch your back. My good friend Gage Paul was a tax collector and he was tarred and feathered. I don't want the same done to you. The Stamp Act is what Parliament is thinking about passing. The colonist would have to pay for stamps to get paper. The colonist should be paying you daily. If they don’t write their name down and hide the list. Then we will take care of it. Sincerely,

Dear family,
I am a minutemen in the Continental Army with other Patriots. I was at Lexington and Concord today with my regiment, and we are going to go to Bunker Hill. If we win against the Lobsterbacks, we will go back to Lexington and Concord to make sure they didn’t attack while we were gone. After that we will just sit around until we get our supplies. Today they attacked, and we won but they killed a couple of our soldiers with bayonets and took their muskets. They only sent about 35 troops and we found out they had a spy. I will write back to you a couple days after King George lll stops sending troops in. Today is the last battle, and then I can come home. Today the British attacked, and they killed a lot of soldiers but we won. We didn’t see them, and we rushed in then they fired. I took cover behind a tree by the bridge. We won but sacrifices were made by the brave soldiers. We won our independence and remember the soldiers that died for others independence.

Dear family,
Second platoon is fighting against the redcoats right now. They're defeating a lot of our patriots and we're defeating a lot of King George III loyalists. I'm a Minuteman! I'm also in Philadelphia. There is a huge field of tall grass(which is good for camouflage)It's a pity that I don't get to see you.A ton of people are being carried back to base injured. The gunshots are so loud that they make my ears hurt. Some of the food here taste good.Just so you know,I'm in third platoon getting ready to fight.I will survive.

Dear King George III
I would like you to open up the Boston Harbor because many people that are merchants, like me, need to be able to get and sell our tea. But by Parliament, passing the law that let the British East India Tea Company sell their tea, has made us run out of business. By making this law, Parliament and you have hurt us merchants because we have to pay the taxes on more expensive teas. All of us merchants can not stop worrying because of everybody who keeps buying the East India Tea and we’re just paying extra money for good tea that nobody's buying. Many of the colonist are starting to smuggle the tea to where they don’t have to pay Parliament and you. I’m really trying hard to avoid conflict with Parliament and other colonist, but rebellion is the only way to make Parliament and you to listen to us for a change. Hopefully, you understand why we, colonists, need the Boston Harbor open. I would love to hear what you have to say.
Your’s truly,
Clara Porter

Dear Thomas Gage,
The British side. You lead the Boston tea party and Lexington & Concord. You also want you to be the governor of Massachusetts because you're leading Samuel Adams were was very successful with the British. You were a leader of the the Lexington & concord in 1775. You were a military leader because Britain merged so that's why you need to be the governor. I need you to be the governor, run the army and led the Lexington & Concord battle so we can win.
Sincerely,
King George the 3rd

Dear Thomas Gage,
I think I King George III should be the governor of Massachusetts. I know what I am doing because I was a King.I was crowned September 22, 1761 at Westminster Abbey. My full name is George William Frederick Days, and I was born on June 4, 1738 at Norfolk house, St. James Square, in London. My parents are Frederick Prince of Wales, and Augusta of Saxe-Gotha Relation to Elizabeth II: Great-grandfather and I have a house of Hanover. Another reason why I should be the governor of Massachusetts is because I have ten sons including George IV and William IV, and six daughters, and that will make them really proud of me. Also I married Charlotte, daughter of Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. I was reigned for 59 years, 3 months, 2 days. I also was succeeded by my son, George IV. As you can see, I should be the governor of Massachusetts for many reasons.
Sincerely,
King George III King George III-Autumn |
Dear Diary,
Day 1: The American Colonies declared war to the British .So we got prepared for the war. Then the war started. The war is close by and there is a bunch of yelling. It’s hard to go to bed to sleep at night. I finally got to sleep I woke up in the middle of the night and it smelled really bad there was dead bodies everywhere: in the trees, in house and the war was almost over. Mom and Dad were fighting like they always do .I didn't like the idea of them fighting each other. I hope nothing happened to them because I could not live without them. they are the best parents.

Dear Diary,
Day 3. Today is Wednesday, and it is a beautiful day. At school, we went outside to play, and the flowers were blooming and the grass was green. My mom and dad are working at the market again. After we got that money, my parents were not arguing as much. We have enough money to bring my brothers home for two weeks. Then we paid for our debt, and we lived like we were in a dream. My birthday is in two weeks, and I will be turning 15. Today I went fishing for dinner and caught six bass and three catfish. We cooked it on the fire and I loved it. My dad just got a new job. He now works at the mines. My mom is still working at the market, and my dad gets $23 every day four times a week. My brothers have three more months until they leave the army.

Dear Diary,
Day 2. Today is Tuesday, and today at school it was raining so hard part of the rooftop leaked. We had to tie blankets to the roof so we could not be soaked as bad. My parents are out selling items at the market for a little money to pay for food. We never get much money and we are trying to pay for debt. I am sick as I’m writing this. Dr. Garrett said I have a little cold, and it should go away after a while. I was sitting down when my parents came on the carriage when they said we just sold a candle. That was really rare and got $345! I was speechless. And at that moment it was the best moment of my life. My parents are at the market buying food for us, and my brothers are outside getting water from the well. My parents are also trying to find the landlord for the house.

Dear Diary,
Day 1. My name is Johannes William’s, and I’m 14 years old. My family is torn apart because my brothers are fighting in the Continental War. My mother, Beth, is on the colonists’ side and my father James is a loyalist. I believe colonies should have the right for independence.
My life is horrible right now because we are not getting enough food. My parents are fighting too much and don’t have time to work for more money. Our house is a log cabin and the insolation is mud splashed on it. So far I haven't seen both my brothers in three months. My mom is trying to convince me to go on the colonists’ side. My dad is also trying to get me to be loyal to the king. My brothers are trying to get me to go into the Continental War to fight. So as that happens, my brothers and my mom and dad argue, and I hate when they argue. We don’t have enough money to pay for debt, so we only have one week left of our rent or we will get kicked out.

Dear Mom, Dad, and lil Joe,
I was just informing you I’m okay and I've seen a lot since I joined like execution, and I have killed a lot of men. I wish it did not have to be this way but it must. Our next step will be ambushing a British base in a week. I wish it was over and we had freedom. We’re sending a spy to check up on the Redcoats base that we are ambushing and getting some supplies. We’re staying in a tavern for the night. It won't be soon till we have independence from Britain. I won’t stop fighting for my family ever. Mom, think of me as your little minutemen. Tonight there was a conflict with the tavern owner he didn't want tons of men in the tavern, but we made a deal that we would give his children and wife freedom one day. Mom must go. I'm up for watch duty. I'll send another letter soon.
Sincerely your son,

Dear Thomas Gage,
I think you should be governor because you were lieutenant in the British army. You also gave your service in the French and Indian War.You were also military governor of Montreal in 1760, and became commander of British soldiers. You were a royal governor of Massachusetts and the most powerful British official in the colonies: New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, and I really liked how you ordered the army to confiscate guns, powder, and weapons. You became the commander of British soldiers in North America. As you can see I really think you could be a great Governor.

Dear Grandma Sue,
I am fine , but father is not, so here’s what happened. Someone yelled “The British are coming!” “The British are coming!” and then I saw horses. Men with big guns show up. Father blocked the door. We were told by our mother to hide when the men came. They took things like food, toys, money, guns, and jewelry. They stuffed it into their bags. Then something bad happened, they started beating father. So he would tell them where we were but he did not , they threw him into the corner. All I heard was fire and boom, there were shots fired all over. People were screaming, “Let me free please.” Lilly started crying. So I told her to cover her ears, so she did. She was still crying. We hid under the house. I looked through the crack so I heard and saw everything. We could hear father screaming and then it stopped. He had hit the floor and was murdered. I screamed and they found us. So mother rushed to get a pan and hit the man with it. There was silence for three seconds. Then Lilly saw father. More screaming occurred. I could see the horror in her eyes. Mother and I sent her to her room. We told her to stay there until it was completely safe. I’m glad I’m fine but now mother me and Lilly all are on our own, so we’re fine besides Father. So I guess we are going to visit soon , but all I am trying to say is, I am sorry for our loss of Father.
Sincerely,
