Arthur Schopenhauer quote...
Dearest Laura, I forgot what's...
Dearest Laura,
I forgot what's it like back home. All I know is it's hell here. I want to forget the faces of the soldiers I saw die in Verdun and in Arris. I want to forget the terrible bayonet wounds that-God knows-I had been unable to treat. I feel terribly disillusioned with myself and the world. Should I cast this medal into the river? The medal that reminds me of all the lives that were lost. By the time you're reading this, I would have journeyed deep into the jungle. Take care.
Sincerely,
Thomas Sheldon
