Internet trolling is a sensational trend that began in the late 21st century. It is an offensive act conducted upon innocent victims. Although internet trolls are often hated, the internet could not have been more polluted with trolls, in this day and age. Every day there are many reported cases of internet trolling situations gone to the extreme, many even leading to death. Zelda Williams’ story is a perfect example to briefly understand the situation at hand. After her dad’s death, the hateful comments on her social media accounts immediately prompted her to isolate herself from the rest of the world for a brief period of time. Although existent for many years, internet trolling has become more prominent than ever. Based on this, you might be asking, "What causes people to troll?" With some research, I was able to determine that although the motive for everyone is different, trolls alike can be seen as those whose intentions are worse than that of the most sadistic people on earth.
